The Department of Global Health & Social Medicine at King’s College London is a unique interdisciplinary department carrying out leading research on some of the biggest global health challenges facing the world today. Working closely with colleagues in biomedicine and the life sciences, we explore the complex social determinants of health, illness and ageing, and the ways in which advances in biomedicine and biotechnology are changing expectations about life and health, and the social and ethical challenges of global inequalities in health, illness and medical care. We run postgraduate programmes in bioethics, global health, health policy, ageing & social research methods, and an undergraduate programme in global health & social medicine. Students from around the world come to our Department as one of the best places to study why health is more than a medical matter. We hope to welcome you into our community too.
